What holes did you plug in the seperation areaIJ Do you mean holes left from pulling every other wireIJ I also have an R42. Where are you located and how are beans yieldingIJ
yes. i plugged the holes left from pulling every other wire. i tried different things, but ended up buying the plastic plugs from agco. located northwest ohio, had one field yeild 47 bu. and another field 57 bu.per acre.
How do those numbers compare with your normal yieldsIJ We are still a couple of weeks away from cutting beans in southern Minnesota so I have no idea what they will do but most folks are talking short crop because of cold weather this summer.
Did you just remove wires on seperater side only or also on the thresher sideIJ You've done no other modsIJ I'm just trying to find out what will give me the most benefit with the least amount of time and $$$. I did the hose-mod last year and thought it helped with feeding and also stopped a rock or two.
the wires were removed in the seperation area when we purchased the machine. it's a 1999 model, so maybe it was made with every other wire removed in the seperation area. i have done no other hyper mods as others have mentioned, i'm not that brave to attempt some of those. for the time and dollars spent on the plugs and hose mod i am very happy with the results. my dad got into the combine last night and couldn't believe the improvements just those two things have made. hope this helps.
It's good to hear that the mods you have tried are working well for you. Keep that in mind if you think about taking the next step and trying the rest of the Hyper mods. I have to admit, it took us some time before working up the nerve to try the Hyper setup, but once we did, we wish we had done it much sooner. We did all of it ourselves, and found it was quite simple to do. Remember the old Nike commercialsIJ Just do it!! Tom langan
your right, probably should do the remaining hyper mods, but putting the f2 bar inside the cage, kinda scares me, but who knows maybe in the future i'll want to do it. thanks for all that you have done, it really has helped me.
