Combines removing straight bars off of standard rotor or notIJ

company said to take front two sets of rasp bars plus two ears off of a straight rotor. you can get better flow and hp. gain from this. great for beans but i wonder if we should take the straights off for corn. we need as much turn of the shuck as we can get. but that usually only applies to hi moisture and hi bu. per acre. works both ways.

I installed those 6 bars in my 1660 last year and took them off this year. In soybeans they buried the load moniter, really made the engine work hard. I don't think they helped threshing any either. They did break up cobs in corn, tried to change settings but nothing helped. Decided to be as good to the engine as I could so they are now in a pile.
