The last time I did this I got "rice spec" flight it's S.S.steel and has very thick flight. So far it has lasted for three years You can also get rice spec stuff from lowen mfg thru Abiline Machine out in Kansas I have had great luck with the lowen parts,They fit and are well built the blue paint is a little odd but it wears off. Is the whole auger needing replaced, or just the top partIJ I thought I need to replace the whole auger until I found out the price. When I got it out of the tube I found that only the top 12 inches were wore out from turning in the grain all of the time because of my extensions. Somebody told me to look into replaceable flighting and I found a place in Nebraska. I ordered a foot long piece of 1_4" double hardened flighting. It only cost about $40 (sure beats $350) to have it shipped to my door. I took the whole auger out but you could probably do it in the combine if you wanted. It took about 20 minutes to torch the old one off, grind it smooth and weld the new one on. Its working great! I cut mainly wheat, so if your in corn country it may be comletely worn out. Here is the website if your interested www.eflighting.com They show you how to measure it, figure your pitch and l or R hand flighting. I have bought flighting from them another time, and had good luck.
