Combines report on 8010

I drove an 8010 for 2 days it had a 12 row corn head we were in corn that was going about 125 bu_acre. It handled it real well but I thought it did not turn very short with the corn head it also seemed it should have had some weights or something because the back seemed to want to lift. Also it was cold where we were and the Iveco engine took a lot of coaxing to get going even with the pre heat cycle. I have a 2003 2388 and to me the 8010 isn't just ready for prime time yet. For the record I was going 7mph unloading on the go, lots of power and I liked the fast unloading and big cab the controls could be more user friendly I thought. There was some problems with the self leveling shoe as the alarm kept going off. Hope this helps

Those Iveco engines take some getting used to. Operaters hit the key switch and expect the engine to hit right away like a Cummins, however the Iveco engines require some "crank time" before it will fire. What sort of shoe problems were you experiencing. Related to the actuator or was it undiagnosedIJ

the Iveco engine's probably need to build oil pressure before it will fire the injectors...this is common on the 7.3 and 6.0 ford powerstroke as well.

Yup our Powerstrokes wont start with a cummins but they will out pull um!! POWERSTROKE All THE WAY!

I've been helping my tenant by running his 8010 this fall to let him get other stuff done. Its the best IH I've seen for threshing tough beans, first one that seems as good as a Deere machine. Corn capacity seems to be very good, running 8 row head through 200 BPA (ave) corn at 6+ mph does not stress it at all. We started off with some software problems, got upgrade. Chopper drive_primary countershaft assembly broke, and a few hydraulic leaks have been cause for some downtime. Owners manual is unorganized, lacks listing of where to find topics. This makes looking up info difficult. Overall seems to be very good machine.

YOU KNOW IT!!! what do you got for a powerstrokeIJ im runnin a '97 F350 4WD 5 speed four door long box with 3.55's. just spent lots on a hypermax tuner, banks upgrades, and high-flow injectors.

I doubt that the issue is oil pressure presence. ANY electronic controlled engine will require at least 2 crankshaft revolutions before it will even think about lighting up. The controller must re-establish n1 TDC any time the key is switched off.

We have 2001 F 350 crew cab long bed dually with 4.10s and a 2002 F 250 supercab long bed with 3.55s. They are awesome.

YOU were wondering why the Iveco wouldnt start right away...i compared it to a powerstroke. there ya go. that's how the truck talk started.
