Change the receiver drier, flush if possible, the orings for 134a are not the same butttt we have been converting some and not changing if they are not leaking except at compressor. A good poicy is to change exp valve. There are kits available to add ester oil for these conversions from NAPA AutoZone ect. Conversion for adaptors to 134a gauges are also available and must be added to r12 compressors unless you are changin service valves... Pull a vacuum for a hour if possible, service valves open. Shut off the gauges and let it set for a while. The vacuum should stay with NO leak! If it leaks you must fix before continuing. We add dytel; a dye which shows leaks under black light. With unit shut off and both service valves open add liquid r134a until system equalizes with supply can. Shut off gauge valve to high side. Turn can to gas side - right side up - and start engine _ AC system- fan on high . Continue to add gas through suction side till you have approx 250 psi on the high side on a 85degree day. Can't go by bubbles in the sight glass on 134a. low side should be 15lbs or less. KEEP condensor coil clean! Hope this helps and I havn't made and faux pauxs....
