Using a bean sieve will be a big help also, we have run them for three seasons now and they do an excellent job of keeping the pods out of the hopper.

I don't know about beans but it works very well in wheat on an N7. I bought it as a kit new from the dealer. It is not the most easy thing in the world to install. Translation- a real bear. However, it paid for itself. If and when it wears out I'm going to buy a new combine. Translation- I'm not tearing that rascal apart like that again! Don't buy used. Do it right once. My two cents.

Your right they are a big help, we've run them for quite some time. Again, we seem to only have this problem in soybeans that have froze prematurely. For some reason they are difficult to thresh.

I've heard the kits are especially difficult to install on the P1 machines. Someone told me that it wouldn't be so bad on the R-72. Thanks

we would tend to run a couple rows of filler bars in the concave so we don_'t have to speed rpm and still get threshed out. we also sell seed beans around here and beanscreen installed properly is big help in bin but doesn't break pods open
