Combines Rice Tires

We had a set for an M2, they were 23 wide and them babies would get right down to the hardpan and move right along, in mud would do much better than the 30.5 set, but they made a mess to smooth over in the spring. Watch the heighth if you get a set, seems a lot of them have a high profile compared to standard tread of same size, they need to fit under your ladder. Keep those mud shields on, them clods will be as big as pumpkins. Good luck

I run them on all of my combines and two of my tractors. Pull real good in soft ground but will get you stuck real quick if you start spining and they will rattle your brains on pavement, although the radial rice and cane tires are a little better riding on hard surfaces.

If it has been dry all year and then you find yourself in mud they work great. When there is no hard pan or you go right through it becouse of 2 months of rain watch out. like Kevin said don't spin them or youl be on the frame.

rice tires do help, however I have a better idea. Goodyear Terra Tires I have a set of 67-34-30 on Gleaner rims(m2) for sale. bought new in 2000 not used since2002. traded combine and kept tires. stored inside. new 5000$ would sell set for 2200$ we had rice treads on one m2 and these on the other (this machine also had rwa) rice treads could get through the field but would leave ruts, terra tires would not. Kind of echoing what Jeff said. Watch out for types of soil you have. Heard of a California rice grower who tried to till his fields wet like in louisiana. Got good and stuck to say the least. Those rice fields where they can run in the mud with rice tires have a hard stucture underneath is my understanding so your soil type is going to make a difference.

unverferth makes a set of snap on duals 18.4-38 that will mount beside a 30.5-32 they will not touch the ground when on herd but will almost float when in the mud. put a set n a R62 and cut milo over standing water in a bottom.
