Try a Agco-New Idea 4865 soft core baler. Some farmers I know must bale about a 1000 wheat straw bales every year. They run 1680 and 2188 combines. We have a 4865 that bales behind our old Massey conventionals and never gives us any trouble. They are a very simple baler to own and operate.

We use a CIH 8480 soft-core baler (it's made by New Idea). It's the only baler design that I've ever heard of that works behind an Axial-Flow. Drive fast and use lOTS of twine.
