Romaine Lettuce Recalls

I'm sure you've all probably heard by now that the CDC is warning everyone to avoid eating romaine lettuce from the Salinas, California area. It seems like there have been a lot of recalls on romaine lettuce this past year. I've just decided to avoid romaine all together for the time being. I opt for spinach instead. If the recalls continue, I would think that farmers who grow romaine will begin to suffer, if they haven't already. What are your thoughts on this whole issue?

Thanks for the warning, Kathy. Romaine lettuce has been on the watch list many times over the years. I wonder what it is about leafy greens that make them so susceptible.

All the more reason to start your own vegetable garden. I could be wrong but Salinas seems to make this kind of news a lot.
