Ihave a early N-6 that had the same problem. I moved the lower bearing back to angle spreader back, I made longer channel irons and used a drum lid for the bottum disc. Make sure the channels are turned toward the straw and you cut enough slot in the drum lid for adjusing the channels. Make sure the spreader is turning counter clockwise and ajust channels with rubber pices in somewhat of an X pattern. I do not have a chooper either, but Ihave been able to spread 20ft, in damp vines to far. Page back its explained better.
