I have the same combine with almost the same hrs, we have run with the marlin ears for 3 yrs now in a variety of crops (wheat, oats, peas, corn, canola, flax, edible beans). The front bearing and mounting beam run cool in oats now, used to run beyond finger touch before, still come rotor feeding noise but is better especially in tough long straw, better in peas and beans, neighbours noticed increased capacity when combining with another combine, we have all noticed less fuel consumption indicating less power required to drive the rotor, it will have less wear in the cone area but does still wear at the back of the cone as the material is still being compressed and forced into the rotor at that point, the dirt from combing beans causing increased wear still shows the pressure points in the cone, I had to replace the tranfer vanes this past winter in the cone. As to the cone I have seen the cones from lowen's, the one piece with no seams should be better, the seams on the IH need to be welded full as that is where the wear thru in not filled in. I am in hopes that the jobbers perfect the new auger type ears this summer and we can retrofit our specatiy rotor with them as they sound like that will clear up the front feeding problems a lot more. If you need any furthur information just E mail me.
