We put a lowen cone in last year, along with cage and grates. We are very pleased, might as well save yourself some money.

Actually after making some phone calls I have discovered that the price is $679 cheaper at another CIH dealer 100 miles away. Our local dealer in southern Alberta who owns 7 stores is in a high profit buisiness. This is the problem when one guy owns the whole market. This also does not make me want to own a whole line of CIH equipment.

You might take a look at the loewen cones. Several options and I'll bet they cost less.

We have a loewen cone in our 1680 and like it very much. Its the 1_4" heavy one. It is quite heavy duty and still was less than half the price of the oem "rice" cone at the time we bought it. I dont know anything about the "seal kit". Is this something newIJ Where does it goIJ Our cone fit well, and does'nt leak.

Roy, I think maybe you mean vanes. I also installed a loewen it came with the vanes bolted in it. like Old Pokey's, mine fit ok and was priced much lower than CIH. The original had 2300 hours and was 5_32' the loewen I replaced it with is 3_16". They also offer 1_4". CW

I understand that Case_IH has been offering there cones with this seal kit installed for the past year or so. I was hoping that I would get some feedback on what the seal kit consist's of and what the benifit's areIJ

If I recall correctly, the 'seal kit' refers to sealing up around the half-moon cover above the feeder house and front bearing support in order to contain dust better.Consists of a bent piece of metal and a strip of foam rubber. Not a big deal.
