Well, the best thing about the hyd. drive on the Massey is that it is reversible. Can't say that about a lot of other colors. Just flip up the armrest and hit the rocker switch to reverse it. Sure makes combining easier.
advantages and disadvantages to both, power is not a real issue, both will transmit required power. The MF hydro drive is a constant speed, as rpm goes down , cyl speed remains constant. however if the power requirement is past max, the drive calls for even more power and a stall out results, BUT as stated hit the reverse button and presto your sins are forgiven. The disadvantge is cost and a little less efficiency.
