Combines Rotor Drive

The rotor dimensions on the 8570 are 27.5 in x 140 in. I have run the machine for one season and yes as with any rotor machine HP is the limiting factor. The hydro dirve appears to be rather trouble free and very efficient. I particularly like the varibility of speed without having to worry about variable speed shives and pullies. My machine is rated at 240 HP with a power boost to 250 HP. Have had no engine related problems and it seems to handle the machine just fine. The reversing feature is great. I plugged the rotor several times on edible beans and it always reversed it self to clean out the slug. Much easier to sit in cab and operate a rocker switch instead of chains, wrenches and bars on other rotors. Any other questions I can answer please let me know.

our 8570 is real good hydro rotor is great lot easier to back out wiht finger that wrenches and other stuff, it has never got hot once, have had no problems with it overall is a low maintence machine that is easy to back out plugs and can keep up with any combine properly matched with it and will back out a plug in 5 seconds compared to some of 2-3 hrs allen
