Sorry about your bad luck,but most things do not happen for no reason. I've not heard about this problem except in an 80 size machine where 2 of the ears were removed from the 4 ear spider hub.It created too much strain on the remaining 2;more than they were designed for;and something had to give.One part of the hub broke,and things went flying everywhere,making their own exit holes in the process. I suspect your hub may have been cracked last season.Rock damageIJ Was the pin that holds the hub to the shaft in placeIJ The axial flows have many millions of acres behind them in 25 or so years.If it was a wide spread problem,there would be stronger update hubs available.Maybe even a recall,to prevent possible human injury.Not a good PR situation. All of this doesn't make you feel any better,but it seems to me that the hub failed for some reason.Can you figure out which ear broke loose first,for instanceIJGood luck.
