I would take a skim off the top of the dipstick if that is where it is tight. One thing to watch is to make sure that the pipe which fastens on to the tube isn't rubbing on anything. Ours wore through and the gearbox although not damaged caught fire because it was so hot. luckily we caught it before the box sized up.
