Combines rotor grease

Duncan, I haven't used synthetic grease. We were told to use only lithium grease (daily) as it doesn't build up like a moly-based grease.

Have used Mobil 1 synthetic grease on the rotor drive for years with good results. The big thing is to not use a grease with solid additives like moly in anything that spins as a unit. The spinning parts centrifuge the solids to the outside where it jams in the bushings. Same thing goes for U joints, the moly will centrifuge to the bottom of the caps and when enough builds up it will plug the lube passages in the cross. This usually leads to 3 perfect well greased caps with 1 bone dry and burned out.

Doesn't CaseIH recommend their own EP grease with moly for use on the drive pulleys and u-joints.

cih ep135 grease is a lithium base. the teflon bushings in the rotor drive uses lithium only . moly or graphite will cause damage and not let the pulley slide freely on the shaft of the rotor drive.

Oh, OK, I thought CaseIH EP135 contained molybedinum(spIJ). My mistake. I belived that using EP135 was the proper grease. Most important maintaince is the daily stuff. Thanks, iaremec, Ted cenOH
