It is the concaves that are plugging. I have the standard ones with every other wire pulled( large wire). It becomes sort of a thatch. The bar stock grate always stays open.

large wires or round bars will solve this. my 8010 and 2388 do this and the round bar I put in the 8010 solved it. it is allmost unbelivable. someone makes round bars for 60's and 80's but I don't know who

try running your concave a little tighter, that should help keep it cleaner.

David; Call Hy-Capacity in Humboldt Ia. 515.332.2125 hy-capacity.com They may have the round bar option for the 2144. I had the same trouble today as you. The concave was pluged tight as a tick with silk. No fun cleaning those. Will have drier conditions tomorrow, that will help.

Closing the concaves is the standard answer for concave plugging. It should help move the MOG along too. Have you plugged the holes where the wires were in the concavesIJ Holes can catch trash and restrict the opening.

I believe Hy-Capacity sells the round bar and wire concaves manufactured by loewen. The wires are on these are in tightly drilled holes, so these will not hair pin like the CASEIHC concaves, whose holes are punched and are much larger than the wire size. Something else that would help, and they likely sell these also are the Marlin elephant ears for improved feeding and a concave shock kit, that will allow the concaves to move slightly downward to help eleviate the plugging problem. Hy Capacity should have them also, as I believe they carry all loewen products.

We have a 1640 (Same except shorter seivesIJ) and run the concave at 2.75, rotor at 450 and NOTHING comes off the seives at the back. No chopper (if it makes a difference). It all comes off the spreaders. Picking 35% corn yesterday and didn`t even notice any power loss, still driving 3.5 mph Moved into some 22% stuff late in the day and closed top sieve a little, but had to cause couldn`t keep machine full. Dealer did not recommend picking in 2nd for such a little machine
