Combines Rotor removal

You'll have to re-hitch the chain to the mid way area before the tail of the rotor falls out of the cone. Support the head end on some type of safe stand to allow you to re-hitch to the middle. The come along is used when going back in. Place a wood 4x4 across the back of the machine above the rotor inspection door as an attachment point for the come along. Two 2x4s laid inside the tunnel act as skids for removal and installation. The come along lifts and pulls the rotor the last foot or two till the rotor can engage with the spline shaft off the gear case. Rock drive pulley one way and another to get the engagement. Good luck and be careful.

Before you even think about removing that rotor, Rig a winch or come-along to the back above the rotor drive gearbox. Try and get a look at a service manual to see the recommendations. That rotor weighs close to a ton, and if it ever starts to slide, it will surprise you! CardaleBob
