get out your rotor torque spring compressor. Compress the spring, remove the keeper, relax the compressor, and that assembly should come right off.

I have experience with these on 2188s . I learned that if they don't take grease, replace them. Came very close to having a huge fire in one if I hadn't caught it at the last second.

I'm getting advice about changing rotor belts.I measured a new belt for my 1680 and it measured 2-5_16 across. have any ideas about my problem i posted under you.

when you install a new belt if you look in your ops man in (two different sections) one section should give you the dimension of the non adj shieves (make sure that you are measuring to the right side of the pulley i think that on older units they go from the inside edge of the pulley and on newer units they measure from the outside) set the "fast or together" first then set the "slow or apart" then set your rotor belt ten last on a 1680 you should get around 1050 rpm when your done
