Thanks for the reply. I had already ordered a loewen sieve from Worthington Ag Parts ($275) when I got your message. I was very impressed with the sieve I received from loewen (quality construction, excellent fit). I am getting a very clean alfalfa seed sample. I live in SW South Dakota, which was very dry this summer. Alfalfa seed is doing well (300lbs_acre) but is not worth much ($0.35_lb for common seed).

I don't know of anyone with a roundhole sieve installed. The first thing to do is to check your upper windboard and if its not angled up then move it. Once you get the air blast from the top of the fan chamber moving verticle into the front of the cleaning shoe you should have alot easier time adjusting for clean beans. The trick is that the verticle airstream lifts alot of the pods and chaff up and with the right fan speed will carry it out without hardly touching the chaffer again. You might play with the lower windboard position but it seems to me that centered, straight with the fan air duct is about as good as it gets for that one.
