The rear wheel assist will only leak in this situation if the RWA is partially pressurized and a piston is leaking causing high internal leakage, or a blocked case drain line causing the seal to blow. A bearing loose causing seal to not contact spindle will cause leakage. The case pressure should only be 15psi. The drain oil returns to sump. Why do you not use the RWA, it eases the load on the hydro and finals and transmission, lowers the hydro working pressure causing less heat to have to be dissipated, lowers the shock load on the belts, lowers the whine noise, does not cause any rwa wear as it turns anyway, and makes the hydro smoother to operate. Plus the fact when one has to go to the truck the RWA can be switched off and your speed increases about a third.
