I don't have a picture but think of it this way, the early type rotor used stright long rasp bars mounted inline with the length of the rotors. In face they were the same cylinder bars that JD used in a cylinder combine just mounted on a rotor. The late style rotor had short staggered rasp elements around the rotor. With this type there is a steady area of close contact between the threshing elements and the concaves. There is always a constat force load on the rotor drive belt. With the old type there was a short amount of time when the whole rasp bar was rubbing crop against the concave then a short time between with no load before the rasp bar on the opposite rotor was loaded.
