I think it would be a 100% improvement for you! We had a 973 with the 1.5" cut and it did the same thing yours is doing. It would push the stalks over and leave a bean that would pop up in a few days and make the field look bad. We changed over to the NH 3" cut and liked that much better. I think the 1.5 cut can do a good job when new and if you really do the up keep on it, but the 3" is just better and more easy to run. Is the S.I. system the same as the SCH systemIJ I was going to change my 973 to the SCH but ended up trading it for a 73c head. The SCH system looks to be the best thing out there at this time. looks like it's about $1330 at Shoup for a 30' head. Ilnewholland
