Yes, two years of being left on my own has led me to bark and eventually I am going to bite. Thanks for the ideas but I am sorry to say they have all been tried. I have a service agreement with the dealer to do annual inspections and the concave was considered level by their technicians. As for the returns, there are none already and I am not taking out and putting in my sieves to switch from one crop to another on a $200,000 machine. We already have to chisel bean dust off of our preperation pans while laying on the sieves everyday which is also inacceptable for a superior machine. We tried closing the returns and that led to a corn_cob mix in the tank. We were getting all of the broken cobs because we had to speed up the cylinder to get the popcorn off of the cob. That is what we sell. I started at the 180-250 area that you had mentioned and it did not break up the cobs, but it left corn on the cob and no less damage. The disawning plates have always been open and the fan at the 1500 rpm you described. As far as keeping the machine full; the dealer talked me into spending another $12000 after the first year to go from a 6 row to an 8 row head ( the axle won't handle a 12 row ) and then I spent another $1500 for the auto height control in hopes of gaining ground speed without losing my snouts. All this and still no better sample, just a smaller bank account. All this time the dealer is supposedly talking to Omaha and they were too busy to make it or come up with a solution. After all of this, $25000 in lost premiums, and possibly losing my contract; I think that I have justification to bark a little. Again, thanks for the ideas but we tried the civilized route and no luck.
