Careful, guys. That MF rotary can outrun an R62 in flat going in certain crops. Granted, it is the ONlY combine that can beat, heck, even keep up with, the R62 in flat land, but hillsides are a different story (advantage, Gleaner). And remember, MF is our ally under the AGCO umbrella and anyone who has been around one cannot possibly refute its outstanding performance. MHO is that there is more room for class 7, even 8, machine capacity in the MF design than in the Gleaner. Who knows, we may even someday see the MF design in silver as a BIG combine. Never say never. I love my Gleaners, but don't underestimate the MF.

There wouldn't be enough room on the side of the combine to put all the decals on that Agco owns. In my part of the country Agco dealers are called "Everything else thats left Dealer" The reason for this is you have Case IH, Deere and New Holland dealers and the everything thats left dealer.

Kinda like General Motors, Proctor and Gamble, Kraft Foods, and a few other tremendously successful conglomeratesIJ What is wrong with maintaining brand identityIJ look at the uproar last year when there was rumors of combining White and Allis tractors. Everybody seems to have their favorite colors. Not trying to argue, just some food for thought. Tom langan

Allis-White merger is not a rumor its a fact!! 3-22-01 Dennis Heinecke mkt. mgr. for Allisand White tractor in a dealer sales meeting in Hesston KS said the new series of tractors to be introduced this fall to the Allis and White dealers will be called the AGCO tractor painted Corprate Orange. It could have been worse the could of stayed with that really cool orange they use on the allis compacts!(thats what they were going to do)Oh Heinecke also said the other option on the color was Spring Green (remember the right green)That was tongue in cheek or was it foot in mouthIJ What does this have to do with combines you ask, also had a plant tour and saw 15 completed out the door R62 and 72's and a new 30' ridgid header come out the door off the assembly line. Serial no. now in to double didgits!

Nothing against Allis Chalmers, as I have a great deal of respect for the company and its heritage, but my first love and loyalties are to White and silver. I am deeply saddened that a silver tractor will no longer be available; a White sure looks good in the field next to one of those beautiful painted Gleaners! Did they ever think of thatIJ Or is it a first step in making the combine orange as wellIJ Remember the limited number of R series combines that were painted Deutz spring green in conjunction with first R50, R60, etc.IJ I could have told them it looked bad. I'll still be loyal to AGCO, and I think one AGCO brand tractor is not necessarily a bad idea. Just sentimental, I guess. Now I know how you Allis guys felt when KHD tried to axe the orange.

We hear ya, WFE. Sounds like we will be loosing the Allis name too. It still lives on in the AGCO title (Allis Gleaner Company),but a bit obscure. Underneath, they will probably be the same as the Whites were though - with the Cummins engine. Just a guess. let's hope the management at AGCO has enough sense to NOT start painting Gleaners orange! I have seen pics of orange Gleaners in Europe years ago though - I think they were model A's. I think they were in Britain.
