Pedro would have been talking about the release at Dalby Queensland, although i didn't see anyone walking about with pedro on his nametag. The new cab is very roomy and there is finally storage space and a coolbox. Now we just have to wait for the CR's with that cab.johnboy

Yep, Dalby Qld. johnboy, the TX have a coolbox in them for 2 Coke cans, but yeah the storage space behind the seat is a huge improvement on TX. Can't wait to see it operating. I didn't see a johnboy there eitherIJ pedro

I was the guy that was asked to start the 860 and then found out that some joker had set the engine throttle button at full revs,it's hard to find that switch if you had never used it before and there is 50 people wondering why the engine is at full revs. johnboy

Talked to someone that had been demoing an 840 in Western Canada and it was reported that the 840 was smoking a Tx 68 in canola, big time. That is understandable because of a larger diameter cylinder, rear beater, rotary separator and longer walkers, with approximately the same ponies. The grain bin unloaded like crazy at 3 bu. per minute. You have to addmit and agree with me, when the Tx was introduced to North America in 1993 this machine was 10 years ahead of where the competition is today and the introduction of this CX only puts New Holland that much further out in front of the pack that much more. Tx customers will probably find the cab a little noisier than the Tx's probably due to echoeing because of its' larger size. But anyone used to a TR or any other make of combine will probabley find it quite nice. The back axle is set back from that of the TX's and it will really turn short. This 840 was being demoed against some Sts John Deere combines in western Canada and was really making then look BAD!

I threashed with the CX 840 for about 4 hrs. Fantastic machine but to me it feels short of horse power. Ran beside a new TX 66 (brand new) and was a see-saw affair for 1_2 mile. Did excellant job of threashing and unloads super fast. Have worked on TX + TR for last 5 yrs and see a lot of improvements on the CX.

if the tx 68 was 10 years ahead of the rest then NH must be going backwards I drove a cx 880 late august some nice touches but still no match for the lexion 480 which was introduced to europe in 1992 some 9 years ago !

SORRY TAFFY YOU DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT lEXION COMBINES,lEXION 480 COMBINES WERE ON DEMONSTRATION HERE IN THE UK IN 1995,1996 AND DID'NT GO ON GENERAl SAlE TIll 1997. AND SORRY YOU SHOUD'NT COMPARE A CX880 WITH A lEXION 480 ONE IS A STRAW WAIKER MACHINE THE OTHER IS NOT.MEANING IN SOME CONDITIONS lIKE VERY DRY, THE 480 MAYBE FASTER,AND IN DAMP HIGHER MOISTURE CONDITIONS THE CX880 WOUlD MOST DEFENITlY BE FASTER.

Since they have made these BIG improvements in the super conventional combines, I can't wait to see what they will have in store for the Twin Rotor combines. I hope these two lines will make the competition look horrible in comparison. It's time for New Holland to put some moves on cat and deere.
