When one has something impressive like that, one wants to show it off! :)

Just one comment on the looks of the auger. The reason Gleaner sets it on the outside I reckone is the same as most moving parts on the Gleaners, Easy Access. I really takes alot less time to remove something if you have problems with it if it is easily accessible and also gives you the benenfit of getting that auger out there aways. If it was tucked under the skin, the verticle auger would be closer to the center of gravity with in turn would make the horizontal auger longer and also weaker. I prefer the old style auger just cause it is simpler and less grain damage, but where guys need the turret style for larger grain carts and the such, I havent heard of any complaints. Only a few on the obtrusive looks of it being on the outside just as you. Its all a personal preference thing I understand. I still like the roll up type auger, its just alot simplier design than the turrets. Just my 2 cents

My guess is you would also give up some bushel capacity of the bin if the vert. portion was "inboard". The way it is also makes mfg easier - simply a matter of bolting on the turret vs the swing-out as it rolls down the assembly line. If the turret was inboard, it would probably require a totally different bin design and that would make the option more expensive. Tom langan

Yea, but if we were into "looks", we'd run green combines. The typical Gleaner owner wants practicality, simplicity, accessability, reliability, and probably a bunch of other "itys" that I can't think of right now! :) And remember, beauty is only skin deep! Tom langan

The turret auger option will set you back about $2500. It is an option on the R65, R75, and the C62. It is hung outside for all of the mentioned reasons on here with the biggest reasons being more bin capacity and easier service access in my opinion. Kelly

What will you gain in bin capacityIJ No bigger than the tube is I'm assuming you won't gain but about 10 bushel. With all the extensions available 10 bushel is a pretty weak argument. I will buy the story about the line in the factory though. Would probably require a Y somewheres inside and the turrets go down one path while the old style goes down the other and then the Y formed back together at the finishing stages. If I have time this summer and you demo one I'd really like to see it. let me know if that is on the books. No, your not going to sell me one anytime soon.......This is just pre-notion knowledge for future reference.
