We have many with your setup and all are working wonderfully. I had trouble with double cuts in our area for stalks on our plants were just to tough where we were tring to cut them. I prefered to standard Gleaner bar to the double cut. We made many double cuts work by installing the guards from discarded bars to the top of sickle in place of present hold downs. It took alot of shiming and a special gaurd over the head area but sickle would then perform well. Someone told me if you order a new hold down you will get one with four points instead of just two. They need to be shimmed to just clear sickle but it would sure be a step in the right direction if you ask me. When we preformed this transformation we flipped every other section as well. lightening is probably right that feeding would be improved if reel could be brought closer to feather sheets especially if using a standard pickup reel with no air assist. Similiar principle to hose or hump kit would likely apply. I would surely give your head a try before fliping anything around. Good luck
