We had a 320 with Crary and traded for a 8000 with a SCH, seems to cut soybeans alot better and cut wheat fine, but I have a friend that goes on harvest and has 2 Challengers and he had the SCH and he said in tough wheat it would smoke the sickle drive belt and AGCO came out and replaced the SCH with factory agco sickle and he said his cutting problems were over. I was shocked to hear that but he said with the inverted sections on the SCH, the tough straw would seem to get wedged in the guards and it didnt want to cut and after they changed it back to the agco it cut fine. Maybe the straw dried enough and it just started working better, I am not sure but he didnt like the SCH for how it was working in wheat.

We have run a SCH for years now and like it, it does cut well and there is no shimming but you do have to sharpen the guards along both cutting edges to make it work better, just use a grinder and keep the sharp edges sharp. You break very few knives and even fewer guards, we use it in wheat, rye and beans, you might want to speed up your header just a little in tough beans too.
