You will be very pleased,,,we ran it on a 915 flex for many years---hardly any repairs at all. I sold quite a few sets when I was selling combine parts, and several of the guys came back and bought again when they would trade machines.

I agree with Greg, you will like it. The sections last much longer than I could believe. We have no problem in no till beans after corn ,last year 1200 acres,1600 in 2000. All on one 30 ft.sickle.Very few repairs.

I have considered changing to the SCH sickle bar when I get the CIH bar wore down, only have two thousand acres on it now. Is it neccesary to use their gearbox alsoIJ Actually the gearbox is what I am not very happy with. The head was bought new in 2000 and it already needs a new seal. Is that normal or notIJ Dave

You don't have to use their gearbox---If you just buy the basic system, you will get guards, knifeback, sections, and head to fit your machine....I never used or sold one of the SCH gearboxes---but had visited w_ guys that had them and really liked 'em....

I ran a SCH for the last three years on a 30 ft., 1020 flex on 800 ac. soybeans_yr. It did a respectable job cutting, but the tips of the serations on the sections would keep bending up. This made for a dull cuting edge. This would start with new sections put on every year after about the first 100 ac. SCH sent a feild rep. out a couple times to check it out, but they had no answers to the problem. They said they had not seen this before. I went back to OEM. 3 inch knife.

Mike, The SCH cutting system is tops. I first put it on a 1974 model 990 IH haybine--It allowed me to cut fine stem hay at twice the speed of the standard cutting system. I put one on my 1020 head and was equally impressed. I even traded in the standard cutting system on an SCH when I bought a new 22.5--1020 head. The guards are tough in our rocky conditions and yet they work in our sticky heavy clay soils without plugging up. Good luck!
