Combines SCH VS Crary Kingcut

I have used the SCH Knife for 18 years now and like it quite well. When they are new they will cut through anything. With every other blade upside down and the guards designed the way they are, every blade cuts and cleans for the blade next to it. Because of the design of the guards you will almost never break one. However just because they don't break doesn't mean they don't wear out!!! Anyone who says the SCH isn't any better than OEM has worn out guards!! If this head has the SCH Prodrive wobble box you can't get any better. The Prodrive has a longer stroke than the standard wobble box and the rotary drive of the knife head doesn't have to stop and start at the end of each stroke like a regular wobble box does. I have always wanted to put the Prodrive on my 9118 head but didn't want to spend the $2500.00 TO do it.

I put the SCH cutterbar on my 9850 last year and liked it. Never broke a guard all season. Broke very few knives. Remember that you get two cutting edges out of the guards. I keep two complete sickles on hand (as many do),one with the sections opposite the other. Pull out old, put in new, now on the other cutting edge. Next time change everything. I think I would like to try the rollerguides next time I change guards. They seem to be a good idea. I had the 1 1 _2 qwik cut on before and liked that too. Wonder in a guy can run the qwik cut with crary hold downs. I think that would be a good combo too.
