Get a CaseIH combine like my boyfriends if you want to get your grain clean. That 9600 is better at making flour. Have a good harvest boys. Kat

you say you leave your corn inserts inIJ that i've never did,may crack to much, but did put in ft. closure plates to help w_ hard to thresh wheat, but if your gonna run a 36ft draper, you'll be surprised what that 9600 will handle, since all the heads go into the machine first. your biggest loss area will be the walkers. so your cancave will pretty tight and cyl. speed up there too. run your fan 100 to 150 higher than book settings and keep her full. you won't be doing mach 4 but a 9600 will give ya a good sample if ya play with and keep her in good runnin shape. good luck mit9750

Just make sure you don't overthresh the crop. leave a few white caps on. These come out at the seed plant. Keep your bottom sieve open enough so that you are not sending too much grain back to the cylinder to get rethreshed. This is where most of the grain gets cracked. If you keep your cracking to a bare minimum and let the seed plants do their job of cleaning the seed, you will end up with high quality grain that will germinate very well. Cylinder speed that is too fast will crack lots of grain also. This may need to be adjusted from morning to the heat of the afternoon. Nothing beats checking the quality of the job you are doing often. Have the person driving the truck or grain cart inspect each load to make sure that the cracking is acceptable. I often have to adjust mine 2 or 3 times per day.
