chadh; There are probably two senders for coolant temp, just as there are for oil pressure on these and other machines. If you don't see one, you'll hear the other. As you may know, the sender controls how much "ground" is available, that's why the gauge reads, and why the red lite and alarm sound. Determine which coolant sender operates the lite. Pull the wire off and lay aside as to not touch any bare metal. Start engine as before. If the light and alarm are on as before, then that wire has a ground somewhere from mouse damage or whatever. If there's no red lite, then the trouble is right there at the sender that the wire was pulled from. That's what I'd look for.

yes it is the coolant temp, that is why it confused me. hasn't been ran in 2 month and start it up and the coolent temp light comes on!!
