Does the cyl speed workIJ If so the tach is ok. Have you replaced the 71313444 sensors or exchanged the cyl speed for the pickup back at the eng flywheelIJ If all else fails simply run a wire fron the pickup all the way to the switch.
Hi we are much the same I am young a starting out also I am 22. If I new anything about your electronics problem I would help I know that a late F2 is a fine machine all I have is a 59 A thuogh I would not mind having an l l2 or possibly later F or M series sometime like you have I am looking for a small farm as of now. Bluestem.
We had a problem with cylinder speed not working but the tach worked on our F3. Our machine had the push button controls like you referred to. Check your grounds at the sensors. We tried a new tach and no change. Tried new sensors and no change. Meter seemed like everything was o.k. The short where the wire was worn seemed to only touch when the head was lowered and you were in the field. Couldn't find the worn spot in the wire so just ran another like tbran suggested and solved the problem.
Good to hear that a new generation wants to farm!! I can identify with that. Don't ever give up, keep digging, because if you want to farm bad enough, you will find a way!! Best of luck to you!!
to tbran, i replaced the engine rpm sensor and there wasnt any change. I also tried the new sensor on the transmission for the ground speed but still no change. the cylinder speed and the fuel gauge works. i changed out the analog tach and put a new digital tach so i could monitor my cylinder speed more acurately.
I have found a many a F2 wire chewed by mice if the sensors are not working the place they like the best is in behind where the little cab light is at your right shoulder start there and follow the harness on up over head til you find where the mice has chewed on them, also a service manual would help a lot to idenify the color of the wires coming from which function and give you a clue where to look for them. hope this helps.
