I have a 1460 and do roughly equal amounts of corn, wheat and soybeans(although some years more soybeans than anything else). I have a specialty rotor and keystock grates. They work well in wheat and I get a good sample. I use the small wire concaves on the front two concaves in wheat. For corn and soybeans I switch the front two concaves to the large wire concaves. For corn I use the same setup except I have the rotor vanes in the least agressive position to avoid throwing corn out the back. I also have the chopper in full chop for wheat and beans, but for corn I remove the concave and switch the belt to the low speed sheaves. I would recommend the specialty rotor if you do a lot of soybeans(especially with green stems) and not too much wheat. If you do a lot of wheat and only a few beans, the standard rotor is better. For corn it doesn't matter as both rotors do an excellent job.

colorblind, Ask 10 farmers you'll get 20 different answers. A rotor is very forgiving and there's no need to do more work than you have to. We run: large wire concaves odd wires out for corn (worn concaves work best). Soybeans large wire (all wires in). Small grain lrg wire 1, small wire 2,3 (all wires in). Make sure to bottom out the concave clearance when changing concaves, especially in small grains. Close the front section of a 3 section top seive in soybeans and wheat. leave all vanes in middle position. Bars are available for the speciality rotor if a corn rotation is harvested. (leave on for other crops)

Most of the problems in wheat seem to come from excessive return. Often the return is light, fluffy chaff that plugs up the elevator. It is caused by a lack of air on the rear of the seives. The first thing I would do is get the fan deflector from Future Farming Solutions. Run the large wire concaves with three cover plates for wheat, two for soys, none for corn. The keystock grates will probably be fine. The specialty rotor would be my first choice if you can find one.
