Answer to your question is what will the temperature of the corn when it is harvested and also the temp for the days that follow before you move it if it's in the 80s your going to have some very hot corn.

i would'nt, unless you like digging out your wagon. we put up wet corn for our feedlot at 28 to 35% and if its on a truck, it gets unloaded a.s.a.p.

Hey joe ,are you aware that your field losses greatly increase the drier you let your corn get in the fieldIJ Not only from shelling on the head but from ear droppage and lodging. It has been proven in study after study. Once a corn crop has matured ,it can only get smaller. Not to mention the weather factor.

lots of down corn, bad rootworm pressure in our area. I won't be able to get back to it until Tues anyway so hopefully I will be in the 17 range by then...weather depending of course.

Just wondering. Propain for the dryer is at $1.05 cash price right now. Up hear with 90 day corn is pushing the limit most years, right now the 80 and 84 day is just getting fully dented, about 3 weeks behind. Paying for the drying at the elevator and sitting in line for up to 6 hrs to dump one truck of wet corn really makes for a slow harvest. Or let it dry out a bit more, less trips to town, and less drying charges. We still have many thousands of acres of wheat out in the area. Rains every 3rd day, and hard to even think about corn harvest when it is a month and a half or more away.
