A common problem with canola is having the lower sieve closed too tight which limits air to the already overloaded chaffer. Keep it full and turn up the air. Chew up the canola MOG as little as possible and still get it threshed. What is your problem in wheatIJ What kind of concaves and grates are you usingIJ How worn are your bars and concavesIJ CoverplatesIJ Vane positionIJ Crop conditionsIJ Direct cut or swathIJ Not much to offer, but maybe this will get the ball rolling.

We always get comments that our canola is "really clean". Maybe too cleanIJ When you say keep the bottom sieve open, how much is too muchIJ We have usually set the bottom sieve at about 1_8th of an inch or so. If you open the bottom sieve, where should the top sieve be set atIJ What fan speed is too littleIJ We do run the rotor very slow. We run Harvest Concaves and swath everything. It is possible that bars and concaves are getting worn. We cover the first 3 rows of concaves with cover plates and run the concave very tight to thresh it. Wheat usually shows some unthreshed heads in tank, especially when conditions are a little tougher. Vane position unclear, probably factory settingIJ Suggestions welcome!
