On the old 14 series, worn out bushings will crack the seive carrier and seives. They wear from the edges to the center of the bushing. I have cut the outer shell off a worn bushing and found as little as 1_2 inch of rubber supporting the inner sleeve. When the bushings are worn this much, the center sleeve is not rigidly supported and allows the seive frame and seive to flex with every stroke of the shoe which quickly cracks up the framework. The bugger is that to casual inspection the bushing looks good, but has no contact between the outer shell and the rubber at the edges where support is needed.
