it really depends on the setup of the 86, it sounds like one of the first ones, if the 86 has a ford motor and the s cubed rotors it is the way to go especially if you need a flex head and it has terrain tracer. We just switched from a tired 85 to an 86 with the ford motor s cubed rotors and terrain tracer. the 86 has more power, capacity, especially in beans, runs better drives better, looks better and is better. if your 86 has the old rotors and cat motor you should buy the 85, it will run for a long time and the cat is a good motor, but it is nothing fancy. just for your info, an 86 in good shape sells for between 15 and 25k at auction and 30 to 40k at dealer in semn
