Combines Should I turn up the pump for more HP 1660

Our 2166 had some power problems last year running a 8 row corn head, We just had the pump rebuilt, It had a bad govenor and they turned it up 15%, So far it seems to run well but we have only run about 100 acres of wheat so far, Will know alot more in corn this fall, It does smoke a little more and idles a little like a gas engine with a big cam. But seems to run fine.

Every extra HP will reduce engine life...no if's and's but's or maybe's.
