Seen one at the Toronto farmshow today, so i am sure it will be at the NFMS. The one I seen was a 9790. It is basically a 8780XP with a cab off a Gleaner. We are considering trading on the 9790 and wondered if anyone has had any experiance with these machinesIJ We currently run 2 tr 98's. We live in Ontario and grow some white and black beans that we currently clip straight with the tr's and wondered if anyone on the message board uses a MF rotary in beansIJ Not wanting to start a color war because they all have pluses and minuses but would like to hear some opionsIJ Thanks

Don't think any 9790's or 9690's are in the field yet. There's pictures over on farmphoto.com with a 9790 running beside an R72. What a site. I herd of a guy in Saskatchewan that is trading a bunch of 2388's for the new masseys. That sais something. Where are you fromIJ I'm from the Ingersoll area. Take Care

Yes, have seen the MF rotaries in edible beans. I believe the new front beater in the 9690 and 9790 is supposed to do even more good in this combine. They do great in edibles. About the only changes that might be required are the installation of 2 forward rasp bars in place of the 2 reverse bars and the addition or removal of some of the rotor knives for maximum grain quality. These are very easily added_removed if you have to. Similar to the agitator pins you probably have in your TRs. Knowing both machines (and you're right, they both have strong and weak points),I think the 9690_9790 is a real winner. Good luck!

Have your TR's not been good enough for you or whatIJ If you have the money to buy a new combine, why switch brandsIJ The TR's are great, especially where gentle threshing is a must. The new CR I know from experience is several times what the TR's were, and I love Twin Rotor Combines. THe new CR has it all. The best reverser, best stone EJECTION(not trap like most combines) biggest, most comfortable cab, and all around performance, from the twin rotors to the Self leveling Shoe. The CR combines will not be matched for a long time, if ever. I know New Holland has had some problems with some of their tractor lines, but the combines are very dependable, and proven.
