Combines Sieve loss on 1660 in corn

Had the same thing with a 1992 1660 until I installed an AirJet Chaffer-problem solved. 1. Make sure that your shoe is getting loaded evenly before changing chaffers. 2. Your fan speed may be a bit on the slow side too. 3. You did not mention engine RPMs, but make sure your loaded high idle speed is within specs. GOOD lUCK!

The key is to not make the big chunks in the first place. What rotor do you have in and where is it set. We run the bottom sieve prety much all the way open and not much less than that on the top. Fan speed at 1050 on a 1480. Sounds like your rotor might be set a little tight. Chads

I have the standard rotor. Concaves are open to where it's rolling mostly whole cobs out the back, but the corn is so dry that some cobs are breaking. Ran fan at 1010 RPM today. No difference in performance. Engine runs 2600-2620 going down the field.

airjet chaffer will solve your problem...just be sure to get enough air to it.

do you have the long finger chaffer,it will help greatly, and run fan about 900.i can run 5.5+mph with no loss. 4 row 36" 110bpa
