Combines Single drive vs Dual drive header

Double sickle = long gearbox and knife life and less occilation of the cutterbar supports on a flex head. NH has used the double knife on all heads 20' and up for many years. Something that Deere engineers need to use on their 30' and larger heads. I,ve seen 20' heads that people have changed over to a single knife with aftermarket kits. The gearbox mount breaks loose every time and often the box will need rebuilding.

I am pretty sure these are factory single drives. I checked them over real well and the mounting brackets are not rewelded or cracked or anything, of course I beef up all our heads to prevent a breakdown in this area. And we have never had a gearbox go out. Thanks for the reply!
