last summer I threshed bluegrass with my N6's and installed the small seed kits (what a pain) to cut the wind. They worked OK until they plugged up with leaves and trash that the fan sucked up off of the ground even though I had screens under neath the fan. When they plugged, the wind got very eratic. I finally got tired of having to babysit them and stumbled onto a much better solution. I had the guys at the local fab shop break me some "pans"- they look like a long skinny cookie sheet. The are 5" tall, and the width of the fan housing. They have a 1" lip all the way around. I stood one of these on top of the fan housing to cut the intake area down, and riveted it to the housing and also to the sides of the separator housing. I then opened up the small seed kits, and used the fan crank to adjust the air. To my amazement, it worked perfectly. Bluegrass seed is much lighter than clover seed, so I am sure these would work very well. They cost me about $20 each-much less that the small seed kits I bought and now am going to take out and throw somewhere (maybe in the lakeIJ). You can have most any fab shop make these things up for you. The finished size of mine were 5" X 60", but you should measure the width of your seperator housing as I found that they vary a little. If you need further info, let me know. I'm always in favor of a good "Farmer Fix".
