Combines small tube rotor

Right now it sounds like it for rice machines and some demo_exp corn-soy machines. CNH wants to see how it performs in corn and soybeans.

The word we got is that CaseIH is experimenting with them in the 25 series this year. There is some concern that the taller rasp bar pedistal might be more prone to rock damage. Not sure where they're at with them in the 7010 and 8010.

From what we've been told the "st-small tube" rotor will only be available in 7010_8010 rice machines for 2007. Case-IH is updating all 2004 and up rice combines to the new rotor at no cost to the customer other than labor for install. The information we've seen says that the new rotor will be about 25-35% better in tough green, high moisture, and down rice. Not sure about soybean performance. The new rotor is about 4 inches smaller in diameter with longer rasp bars, has less bars, and the "wrap" of the bars is different. I will update later this fall on our in field performance results. From what we've been told, it should really make the 7010 and 8010 eat up some rice. We'll see.......

Have they actually decreased the diameter of the tube, or have they shortened the rotor bar mountsIJ There's room to lower them by about 2" without decreasing rotor size.
