From having used the small wire concaves in 70 - 100 bpa wheat they work extremely well. They thrash easier then if you had the round bar concaves in them.. It all depends on how many acres of wheat you have to do as well.. If its not that much why spend the extra money on another set of concaves

I know it depends on how many acres of wheat you have. But from experience at working at a JD dealership and owning a 9650sts you will find it will do a cleaner and better threshing job with the small wire concaves. I know they are rather expensive but a clean sample is worth something.

Budlight if you decide to go with small wire concave, give worthington ag parts a try. They have loewen concaves at about 1_3 less than deere. AZCUTTER

Hi....We use just one small wire concave at the front of the cancave area.....its more agressive in hard thrashing wheat...Were were very happy with it after we put it in.We were running 100-120 bushel average wheat this past year with a 30f grain head 700 acres.

Hey Deerestroyer was the only thing you changed that first concave to the small wired one.. or did you change anything else besides that concave.. like adding inserts in the remaining two concaves or anything elseIJ

last year we ran one with small wire and one with the large wire. we switch from wheat to peas twice a day. by removing fillers on large wire didn't have to pull concave and large wire does good job on threshing wheat. will run large wire on both combines this fall and use filler strips accordingly. we also used filler strips on small wire concave for tougher conditions

Ya thats all we did....saw a large improvment in thrashing. A better sample but certain varieties the straw really got chewed up fine in the middle of the afternoon. Other than that were really pleased with just the one small wire in there.
