Combines Smaller STS

It seems to me that companies are moving away from the smaller combines. Deere already makes so many different models, I can't see them trying to make more, I don't know if there would be enough demand for a smaller machine

I was told by my local JD shop foreman that JD recognizes the need and apparent market for a smaller rotor combine. The problem is that they can't produce it at enough lower cost to make it attractive or feasible.

There may be a demand in the market for a smaller machine, but I doubt that Deere would invest in diversifying their line anymore, because there really isn't enough demand overall to justify it. I know that there are a lot of guys out there that still run 6 row setups, or at least run 6 row corn heads, but I don't think that there will continue to be a place in the market for this size of equipment. If I was looking to make a major investment in equipment, I would have to take a hard look at going to 12 row compatability whereever possible.
