If you are going to try to go in the snow at all, make sure your machine has been sitting outside in the cold so the inside of the machine is cold. Open both big shields to let heat dissipate. I have had a lot of experience doing corn in snow and nothing really works well. If there is just a dusting of snow on the stalks and it is really cold like -15 most of it will blow threw. Here north of Woodstock we have to much snow to even attempt running. Need rain then cold weather with no snow, these are the harvest years that age people.

I took a drive up to Tavistock on Saturday and seen that the corn in your area is very also very flat. Drove past the Pioneer research farm and it has also seen better days. I agree with what you said about aging, I can feel it already.

Boy, I really feel for you guys. Is it very likely that it will get warm enough to melt the snowIJ Flat corn sure is a drag. The corn reels seem to work pretty good. Research suggests they don,t save much corn but speed up the harvest speed alot. Best of luck for a miserable situation. We're praying for you! Steve

As I'm sure you have seen, we harvested some corn just down the road from ya. Started at 8 pm and had to quit at 2 am because it clouded up and warmed up. Then at 6:30 we got rolling again. We were just quiting at 9:30 there when you drove buy pulling that disc. The sieves were no problem, dry as a bone.
