Combines some changes I ve made to my R 7

Good ones! I especially like the added lights inside the cab. My side console light is under the switch panel and it illuminates the switches from behind. Where did you mount a light for the overhead consoleIJ I am getting tired of reaching for a flashlight every time I want to read settings on Pacer, Reel Speed, Acre Estimator, etc. Tom in MN

Doesn't your combine have a small cab light by the right side window with a little red rocker switch to turn it on, TomIJ Our M3 and R50 had one - we'd just switch that on temporarily to see the switches_settings. Tom langan

Sure does, Tom. And the cab light works fine on a bright sunshiny day like the ones we have once in a great while in Minnesota the state where nothing is allowed and it rains every day we should be cutting beans. I put a larger bulb in the cab light and come to think of it, the switch is red, but it doesnt illuminate the lH side of the console very well. The Chief Money Spender thinks I need glasses, but what does she know about anything as important as seeing in the dark. Seriously, does your cab light do any good on the lH sideIJ Maybe the 2 series machines have a better system then this old rig I have. How are your beans coming alongIJ Our yields are disappointinggreat looking plants with no beans. I still dont understand why.

Hello Tom, I attached the $10 light assembly with 2 small bolts to the bottom of the cab air filter duct. The light assembly is about 2"x3"x1.5" and has a swivel "map light" as well as a small light for general illumination. Both lights are controlled by a small 2 position switch.It's wired into the electrical system so it will shut off when the key is turned off.The swivel light is recessed,(so there is no glare in my eyes),and illuminates the right hand switches without brightening the entire cab.

Hello Tom, Yes, there is a light where you described which I use for general lighting in the cab, otherwise it's turned off. The other light I mentioned is usually left on as it only shines on the switches. It seems that the darker my cab is (especially if the windows are dusty, or it's dusty outside) the easier it is to see where I'm going (maybe that's a sign of aging eyes!). David
